Nicolas started out as a theatre teacher and assistant director at various theatres in Germany. He went on to study Media Art and Design at Bauhaus University Weimar before studying directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Nicolas is scholarship holder of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and attended the La Fémis in Paris in 2023.
